Starbucks + Chipotle + after-Valentine’s Day sales + lovely people (and some productivity in precal) + successfully cutting through like 7 lanes of traffic = very nice day
•The 5’ end is cut off and replaced—5’ cap –Protects the mRNA –Acts as an “attach here!” signal for the ribosomes •The 3’ end gets a poly(A) tail consisting of 50-250 A nucleotides –Protects –Facilitates export of mRNA from nucleus
Termination of Transcription: •Elongation continues until the RNA polymerase finds the terminator sequence –RNA polymerase releases the mRNA it has made and the DNA molecule from which it has made
Elongation during Transcription: RNA polymerase untwists DNA and adds RNA nucleotides to DNA (about 60 per second) As opposed to DNA replication, the RNA molecule does not stay connected to the DNA transcript
It takes very little for me to have a sudden desire to run down the streets with a plush axe preaching hellfire and damnation. When faced with a problem, that always seems like the best and most fun solution at first. Just not when I rethink it. The next best solutions seem to be to roll around on the ground, bury the head in a pillow, run in circles, eat, or the like. Then, time to dissect...
Must be more productive.
